Fulfilling a Dream

Mr. Grant, or MG as Grammy Boswell now calls him, was devastated when he couldn't be on swim team this summer!  It was actually pretty sad!  Our pool died (long sad story, but no pool for the Cluff's this summer), since we had no pool, and with having a baby I just couldn't get to the public pool to teach Grant more swim lessons.  I've done swim lessons with him in our pool for 2 summers now.  So ALL summer long he begged me to sign him up for swim lessons!

Well his dream finally came true!  Look at this guy, pointed toes and everything!  That is the beginning of a great dive!

He LOVED them!
Thanks to my friend, Amy Allred, Grant's dream was fulfilled finally!
By next year he will for sure be ready for SWIM TEAM!!! Yay!

He is so brave and isn't afraid at all of putting his face in the water.  Look at his arm positioning..... pretty darn good for a 4 year old!!!!

Last day of lessons they got to use squirt guns and of course he liked that!

Grant especially loved Kyla!
Amy and her daughter, Kyla were awesome teachers!
Thanks for making dreams come true!

Beginning of an Adventure

We decided to open up our home, hearts and lives to a wonderful foreign exchange student, Silvio Capuano is coming from Foggia, Italy to spend the year with us and attend Pima High School!
We are super excited about him coming!

We have been communicating with him through FaceBook for over a month now and he seems like a fabulous guy!  We hope he enjoys being a part of our family!  We are anxious and thrilled at the same time!  We know it will be an adventure with ups and downs but we look forward to this coming year!

I am thinking the hardest part will be sending him home!
I bet we all will just love Silvio!
Our Adventure, and his, begins August 2nd!
Here's to a wonderful year!!!

What Do You Do in Pima When a Good Rain Storm Comes?

You go Giggin' of course!  Frog Hunting that is!

Look at what Mr. Grant found....

Now that is a big old toad!  Grant was super happy to find Mr. Toad!

Logan thought it was hilarious when the frog "blew up".  I'm sure it does this when it's scared or something but Logan thought it was great!

My 4 great frog hunters!

Look at that water Logan is standing in.  They found about 15 frogs in this HUGE mud puddle in front of the Davis's house.  They were shocked when I told them they could get in it!

Looking at this picture puts a smile on my face!
It was so fun to watch these boys excitement catching all these frogs! 42 frogs in all!
I especially loved watching Grant catch frogs. He would go to pick one up and it would jump away, he'd try again but it would jump away.  Over and over again..... it was hilarious to watch!  Then finally he'd catch one!

It was raining most of the time we were hunting but it didn't dampen our enthusiasm!

Before we let them go for good we had to have a few times of trying to gather them all up!

We'd let the frogs jump around and then the boys would see how many they could catch!

It was a great night! At least it was for us, not sure the frogs thought that.... hehehe!

Pinetop Fun

It was a great 3 weeks in Pinetop!  So nice to be able to play outside during the summer day.... we aren't use to that for sure!

We enjoyed hitting the lanes a couple of times while we were there.

Sure love these crazy kids of mine!

They were pretty thrilled to be bowling!

And did you know if you turn your head after you roll with ball it helps direct the ball where you want it to go?  Yeah, neither did I.

Now that's some enthusiasm!

Kiersten was pumped up as well!

It was so much fun to have 3 weeks away from friends and home distractions!

Looking good Mr. Grant!

Ella was such a good sport and took a good nap while the other kids bowled!

I took these two out to Burger King and they were as silly as ever!

Close to the house that we rented was these little cabin rentals.  It had a fun little park and this cool checker board!

Hunter loved finding the little water snakes!

He thought it was great fun to catch them.  We of course let them go because we knew they wouldn't like the heat of Pima.

We enjoyed the Pioneer Day Celebration that Pinetop put on.
Everything was free........started with a yummy pancake breakfast, games, entertainment, cotton candy, and watermelon bust.

Grant LOVES watermelon.  So he was happy to eat several slices of watermelon!!

One day I took the kids to see How to Train Your Dragon II.  We all loved it!  We like it even better then the first one.

The kids had a fun time and made some new friends!  They played a lot with these two cute neighbor kids.  Jenny and Gavin lived on the next street over and we loved having them over!

Turning 37 Wasn't so Bad After All!

I really don't like getting older.... it's hard on the body!  But these crazy kids keep me feeling young!
The kids wanted to have a wienie roast for my birthday and so that's just what we did!

The kids had Tyler and Jenny come as well to make it a real party!

The kids all carver sticks to roast the hot dogs on.... they had fun doing that!

Then we had s'mores!
Great birthday when you get to make s'mores over an open fire!!!
Reminds me of my friend Stacy Smith, she made the "perfect s'mores" back in high school.
 It was an art form!

The kids were so sweet and made a scavenger hunt for me and it ending at a tree.  On the tree was this necklace!  Isn't it pretty!  It has the birthstones of all 5 kids on it! I LOVE IT!!!
They made my day really special for sure!
Gloria even called and sang Happy Birthday to me in her totally off key way..... it really made my birthday complete and made me laugh!  Love that Gloria!

White Mountain Fun Park

While up in Pinetop we went to the White Mountain Fun Park a couple of times!

These little tickets brought big smiles to the kids faces!

Okay and a big smile to my face as well!  I am pretty much a big kid!

Grant loves that he had his own "little kid cart" to drive.

The kids had a blast!  This was the first time we've been to a place where they could each (except for Grant) drive the carts themselves!  So it was super fun for them!

They were smiles from ear to ear.....

And so was I because I could sit and swing Ella while watching the kids!
A swing like this is on my Christmas wish list!

Some times the kids talked the workers (teenagers) to give them a drive!

One weekend Justin brought up Maranda when he came!  Kiersten enjoyed having her around!

Hunter was super excited that he was able to give Grant a ride!
Usually the kids are too short to drive themselves let alone someone else.  But with teenagers working there they were very lenient!

All smiles on Kiersten and Maranda!

Logan was in heaven driving the carts!

Watch out Hunter Kiersten is taking you on the outside!

Maranda even drove the carts.  She did a lot of cart bumbling but that just makes it funner right?

And then the biggest kid of all....

Look at that smile, he might be the silliest guy but I love him so!  And yes he did a donut right there just to be a goof!  We had a great time at the White Mountain Fun Park!
