This Boy Cracks Me Up

Yesterday as we were driving away from Walmart there was a young girl with a sign asking for money because she was stranded.  Now I don't always stop and give people money but some times I do.  I decided to give her $5.  Grant wasn't buckled yet so I gave the money to him and told him to roll the window down and give the girl the $5 bill.
This really intrigued Mr. Grant!!
He asked me a lot of questions about why I gave the girl money and what exactly did her sign say.

So today Mr. Grant brings me a piece of paper and asks me to make him a sign.
He told me what he wanted his sign to say,
"Please give Grant some money.  Please!  Thank you!"
He thought it was a genius idea to make a sign and then people would give you money!
So with his sign he went outside to the side of our road and held his sign up.  He even took a jar to put all his money in.  Considering we live in a cul  de sac in Pima I didn't have much hopes for him getting any money.  But I didn't want to crush his dreams.  Surprisingly enough he made about $4.  Which for a 5 year is pretty darn good.
I explained to him afterwards that the next time he wanted to do that his sign would need to say that he would "work or pull weeds for money."  I explained that we work for our money not just beg for it.  And to my surprise he was okay with that idea too.  It really was so cute to watch his mind work.  Between selling all his Halloween candy in his "Candy Shop" to begging for money on the side of the road, this kid is going to be an amazing entrepreneur one day!
Surprisingly enough he made $4.57 in about 45 minutes on our road.  It was around 5:00 when he sat out on the side of the road so people were coming home from work.
This kid just melts my heart and makes me laugh constantly!
Love you Mr. Grant even when you're begging for money on the side of the road.

Silvio's Prom

Silvio is super creative and came up with this idea how to ask Jessica Taylor to Prom (Pinterest might have helped him a little...hehehe).

This is the PERFECT way for him to ask her.

The only bad part was that she had a volleyball tournament and wouldn't even be in town for Prom.

Oh man I think we all cried when we found that out!!!

Silvio ended up asking Maggie West to Prom, even though he didn't know her very well.  It was a great choice and he ended up really enjoying Maggie!

Maggie West, Silvio Capuano, Angelica Guiterrez, Johnny Boren, Kailee Kay, Ryan Johnson

For the day date of Prom Justin and I took these 3 good looking couples to the lake for some jet skiing time!  We went to Roosevelt Lake.  It was a chili day but these kids made the best of it and still  enjoyed the lake.  We left for the lake at 5:00 in the morning, so it's going to be a long day for all of us.  And Justin and I are OLD.....hahaha!

These girls are just the sweetest ever!  I loved getting to know them a little more today while at the lake.  It was fun because they all interacted and had fun with each other and their dates.  Really I couldn't tell exactly which one was Silvio's date because he was hitting on all of them.  LOL..... he really is a chick magnet!

They all had fun tubing and getting thrown off the tube.

The main thing is that no one got hurt on the trip.

From the sounds of all the stories they were telling I'd say they made some great memories today at the lake!

Well played Silvio, you and Angelica and Kailee, neither of which are your date.  See I told you he is a chick magnet!

Fun group of kids here!  They really enjoyed the day at the lake.  But we had to leave around 2:30 to make it back in time for the girls to get all prettied up for the night!

The dinner for Prom was at our house.  Silvio wanted to have it out on the back porch so we bought lights and hung them the day before.  It ended up being cooler than normal Prom night, so they ended up eating inside.  Look how pretty it looked though!

Look at these 3 proud brothers!  They got dressed in their Sunday best to be the servers for the night!

These 4 boys really are brothers at heart!

Boutonnière time!

All truth be known, I was the one that actually pinned the boutonnière on Silvio :)

Corsage time...... just slip it on your wrist.  The boys get off easy, no needles to stab their date with....ahahaha!

They were one good looking couple!
One day I let Silvio ditch school and when I was going to Tucson for a follow up doctor appointment he came with us to buy his suit for Prom.  We had a fun day and found a stunning suit and sweet shoes!

Ryan and Kailee

Drop dead gorgeous group right here!

Fun part for us girls are the shoes!!!

These girls are beautiful on the inside and out!  Such sweet girls and tons of fun!

The limo arrived and the dates were all still eating the delicious Mexican dinner that was prepared for them.  So what else do we do?  HELLO go check out that LIMO!

I love this picture!
Hunter taking a selfie of him and Grant in the Limo.  It was a phenomenal limo!

I'd say Silvio's brothers are pretty darn excited about him winning the limo too.

I tell you what..... no one arrived at Prom in better style that Silvio and Maggie, and their group of friends.

The Prom was held at the Women's Club in Safford.  They had a wonderful time in the limo and at the dance!

Prom photo booth pictures

What a remarkable Prom experience Silvio was able to have.  The only thing that could have made it better would have been if Jessica Taylor, his original choice, could have been in town to go with him. Other then that it was a picture perfect day and night!

YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME!!!

Holy Moly we could not believe that Silvio won the exchange contest and is getting a LIMO for Prom!!!  He is on Cloud Nine and so are we!!!  This is going to be a night he will never forget! I doubt we will ever be able to top our year with Silvio!

Someone Pay Attention to Me?

I have way more pictures of Ella asleep in places than any of our other kids.

I guess when you're the 5th kid you sometimes get overlooked.  Looks like her Nutella and Peanut Butter sandwich was tasty though!

What a Talker

Ella Jane is such a fun kid!  She is OBSESSED with cell phones!
My kids keep telling me I "need" to get her a phone so she will leave theirs alone.  We try giving her iPods but she knows the difference and doesn't want them.  I guess she just wants what she sees the other kids using.....having Silvio, Kiersten and Hunter all with phones gives her 5 cell phones total to beg for, including mine and Justin's.

Here Ella is having blueberries, "talking" on Hunter's phone all while she needed Mickey Mouse to be sitting up watching!  This girl is going to be a chatter box!  Actually she already is we just can't understand her.....lol!
I love our little caboose!

Surgery Day is Finally Here! YAY!

This is Ella's "Why the heck did you wake me up at 5:00 in the morning" face!

Ella had a clogged tear duct pretty much since birth.  We've been rubbing it and waiting for it to fix on its own but it just hasn't.  Poor baby has a red eye a lot of days so we are anxious for it to get fixed!  Grant came along for moral support!  He was really worried about his sister and did a great job trying to make her happy after surgery.

Ella did really good before surgery considering she couldn't have anything to eat or drink.

Trying to keep her entertained while we waited for the surgeon wasn't easy.

The doctor was great with Ella.  Ella went right to her and seem curious as to where she was being taken.  Until she got too far away from mommy and then she was upset.

Waking up from anesthesia was the hardest part!
So hard to see Ella so upset!

Me holding her helped some but really it just took awhile for the medicine to wear off before she was back to her happy self.  We are super happy that the surgery was successful and Ella shouldn't have a leaking tear duct anymore! Yay!

Paw Patrols

This picture makes my heart happy!

The reason it makes my heart happy is because it means that Mr. Grant is still little.  I love watching him play with his favorite Paw Patrol toys.  He was so happy to have such a growing collection of vehicles and figures.  I love it when Grant just entertains himself and plays with these toys and of course his other favorite toys...........tractors, just "like Daddy's".

Piggy Tails

Look at our adorable Ella Jane!
She is such a joy!  She is a Momma's Girl and I am LOVING it!!!

She is loved by everyone in our family and it's fun to watch the fun they are having with her.

She finally has enough hair for piggy tails!
It is just adorable!  The only bad part is that it makes her look so much older.  Her daddy did not like that when he first saw her with them!

Buckle It

This little lady is so funny, she loves, loves, loves buckling things!!!

She will sit for a good 30 minutes or more buckling her strap in her high chair and then wants me to unbuckle it.  She do it over and over and over again!

She is happy to sit in her stroller and walk around the mall as long as one side of her strap is unbuckled so she can focus on buckling it!  Before she mastered this task she would sit for even longer just trying to get the buckle in.  It's so fun to watch her personality!  Man is she the boss around here!!!  She's the baby and she already knows it I tell ya!
I hope I can minimize her brattiness as she ages cause at this point she thinks she deserves just what she wants, when she wants it!

Easter Sunday

This is our crew ready for Easter Sunday.  Ella wasn't feeling super good and Justin has a head cold so they didn't make it to church today.  I love this sweet family of mine!

I am grateful for Easter and for how it reminds us of the sacrifice Jesus Christ made for each and every one of us.  I helps me to focus on the gift of the Atonement and what that means to me.  I am so grateful for my Savior, Jesus Christ and for his friendship with me!  I am so grateful to know of the plan of salvation and the key role that Jesus Christ plays in my life.  I would be lost without this knowledge.  I hope each of my kids know that I have a testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ and of the Atonement.

Easter Pageant Weekend

Tif and I decided to take our kids to see the Easter Pageant. The husbands didn't care to go. I was able to leave Ella with Justin to make the trip a little easier.

Oh Hunter, so glad you are being safe!

We are always looking for a good youth baclava and we happened to find some. It's 95 degrees but these boys don't care!

We took the kids on a good hike up Pinicle Peak and it was great!

Such a beautiful day and location for a hike!! #feelingblessed

Kaely has to learn if you take crazy selfies with my phone, I will use them :)

What gorgeous girls we have!

Oh yay we were a party I tell ya!

Proof we made it up!  Hunter was so sweet and stayed with Brynlee a little lower down. She just couldn't make it all the way up.

The desert can be surprisingly beautiful!

The Easter Pageant was wonderful!  I haven't been in years and had forgotten how great it is!  So grateful for my Redeemer and the chance His Atonement gives me to become better.

The Angels at the end and Christ rising up was my favorite part for sure!
