Much Needed Reminder

I think smart phone are ruining our families and relationships!

I know my kids spend a little too much time "plugged in" and for sure Justin does.  I will admit I have to fight the battle to put down my phone too.  I guess I am just more aware of the problem it causes.  Justin uses his phone as an escape.  He is constantly glued to it.  Not that he is communicating with anyone.  Just reading the news and sports.....CONSTANTLY.
We need to find some common grounds for when and when to be on our phones.  I recently read a book about this exact topic.  It was such a good reminder to put your phone down and develop the relationships around you.  Set limits for phone use and basically learn to live life HANDS FREE.
I am striving to be a hands-free momma!

Diabetes Run

I was sad to have to miss the Diabetes run for the kids in the Gila Valley.  I wasn't fully recovered from surgery to be up for running.

These three did great though.  Grant ran the whole way.

Hunter got 2nd place so he was thrilled.  Kind of a big deal when it's a fundraiser run for the girl you have a crush on (Calli Rogers) and you get a metal!!!

Valentine's

Hunter once again asked Callie Rogers to be his Valentine. She answered with a Ding Dong that said "I'd be a ding dong not to be your Valentine!"

Hunter was happy she answered yes!  He was dressed up so nice because he had a basketball game this same day.

On Valentine's Day Callie brought Hunter a beta fish with a saying, "Out of all the fish in the sea I am glad you're my Valentine!"

Hunter named his fish Car. Short for Callie Ann Rogers. What a romantic guy he is!

This is my sweet Valentine, Ella Jane!!

I am so blessed to have two girls! I love both of them so much!

Logan surprised me with this planter box for Valentine's Day. He made it at scouts. Super cool for a scout project I'd say. I loved it!  I love all my sweet kids and loving hubby. They make my Valenitine's good just by being who they are!

I Didn't Care

These two crack heads thought I would buy them these unicorns for Valentine's Day....

Yep that isn't going to happen!
But I love their enthusiasm!
I didn't care to be a cool parent at that point in time.  I secretly hate stuffed animals!

Such a Sweet Boy

I had some major surgery yesterday and I will be down for one month.  Over the past few days I often wake up to more and more hearts on my night stand.

Grant made me lots of get well cards!  It made me smile so big every time I looked at them.  My kids are definitely not use to their mom laying around all the time.  They were so worried and sweet to me while I was recovering.  I will be extremely happy to get through the month and few restriction free!!!
Thanks Grant for all the sweet hearts!

Turnabout Royalty

This is the first year Pima high school celebrated Turnabout.  It's basically like homecoming but during basketball season.

These two were paired up to escort each other onto the basketball court.  They all used Grandpa Boswell's big black wagon to enter as their names and goals were being announced.

Kiersten ended up getting crowned or "Hatted" Turnabout Queen!  She was super excited to say the least.  I mean who wouldn't be happy when you win such a thing.
Conner Hansen was crowned king.

These girls are just beautiful!
Kiersten, Kamry Bryce, Alani Blair and Raely Brown
Kiersten sure has grown this year.  She is pretty excited to no longer be the shortest girl in her grade.  She is taller than several girls now and will soon be taller than me, I am sure!

The thing I love about Kiersten is that she not only is beautiful on the outside but even more so on the inside.  When I gave her a hug and was congratulating her on her win.  She responded with, "I am happy I won, but I was wishing that if Conner was king that Kamry would win queen because they like each other. So I feel bad that I won queen.  It would have been so cute if they both won."
Even in a time of victory Kiersten is thinking more about someone else than she is herself.  And that is truly the way Kiersten is!  She amazes me!  She loves everyone and sees the good in all!  It's a treat to be her mom!
She will always be queen in my book!

Rider Pride

I love so many things about our small town.
This year we enjoyed going to the home basketball games.  I would say basketball is my favorite sport to watch.  I look forward to many years of my boys playing it.

We took Ryker with us to the game against Thatcher.
Don't these two look awesome!
I love having such outgoing kids!  I can't wait to see what fun things these boys are willing to do as they grow up.  I think they are going to be some fun teenagers!
