Christmas Time at the Lake

First time to visit the houseboat at Christmas time and was so happy to see this lite up Christmas tree! 

Ella and Warner loved kayaking around the marina. 

Within 10 seconds of placing this RC boat in the water, Warner managed to run it into Logan’s fishing line. Warner thought it was hilarious…. Logan…. Not so much!! 

Ella and Grant had a blast with the little RC boats. So glad the batteries still had a charge since we hadn’t charged them since summer. 

There was no keeping these kids out of the water. With wetsuits it wasn’t that cool according to these kids!! 

They even enjoyed the slide!! 

So much fun!! We didn’t pack clothes or food. Haha… we ate breakfast and dinner at the marina Restraunt and snacked a little in between. Such an easy trip when you lieterally pack nothing and just go!! 

Logan is always catching fish!!! It’s a carp but still it counts if you reeled it in. 

A Christmas movie, “A Boy Named Christmas” and and warm fire at the houseboat really makes wanting to go home hard. I would love to stay for a week right about now!! 

The weather was chilly in the morning and evening but wow so perfect during the day. 

Christmas time at the lake was even better than I had imagined it to be! 

Thanksgiving 2021

Some of us, not me but others, participated in the Turkey Trot this year. 

Brooke, Hunter, and Hannah 

killed it at the Turkey Trot! 

57 minutes flat… hehe

Some ran the whole thing and others walked the whole thing. But no judgement from me because I did neither. I did however prepare a delicious dinner for these turkey trotters so that counts for something!

What a sweet couple! 

We usually spend Thanksgiving sitting on the beach in Mexico and eating Chicken Hut for dinner but Hunter requested being home for Thanksgiving and eating a tradition dinner. He gets to choose since we won’t be having Thanksgiving for the next two years as he leave in January to serve his mission in Oklahoma. 

It was just us and grandma Boswell and Jeff. Delicious food, fun company and relaxed atmosphere. Counting my blessing for sure! 

Prep Work for Thanksgiving 2021

Making pecan pies from scratch, pie crust and all, with my momma was the highlight of my Thanksgiving!  I love this woman with my whole heart!

Mr. Grant was such a stud helping me prepare the turkeys for the pit. He even turned down going with friends so he could help me. He’s just the sweetest! 

I bet this years turkey tastes a little better just by having his touch added!  

What a beautiful sight!!

So grateful for the Bingham’s always being so good to us and letting us out our turkey with them. 

Deep Sea Fishing

What a great morning we had deep sea fishing in the Sea of Cortez. 

Ella was a trooper!  She was happy to reel in one fish but could have went back to the beach after that. 

Hunter’s fish got eaten by a seal before he could get it reeled in. It was pretty funny watching Hunter have a tug of war with the seal. 

Grant is quite the fisherman.

Hunter - 15 and by far the largest fish! And he caught two fish at once. This guy was on a roll!

Not bad at all for 3 1/2 hours of fishing! 

On the way back to port the captain let Grant drive for awhile.
