Loving this Time Away

I love all the pictures marking the fun trip we had to South Padre Island.

Lucky to be these girls mom!  They are my happy place!

We enjoyed all the kites that were being flown while at the beach.

Love this sweet girl of mine.
She randomly told Justin and I on this trip.... "I love you guys!"
She doesn't know how much her dad and I needed to hear this!

Marriage is hard at times.....good thing I love this guy!
I think we make a great looking couple!

I love Hunter girl pose in this picture!

Suntide III was our home for 8 nights and we loved it!

This is not a picture of Ella hiding or throwing a fit.  It's a picture of a very tuckered out beach bum!  Fell asleep right on the floor in the pantry!

Great Way to Start the Day!

I sure loved starting my day with a walk on the beach with these two!

If I could start my day, everyday with a walk on the beach life would be so much easier!

Day One on the Beach

We are all so excited that the 15 hour drive is over and we had our toes in the sand!

The drive wasn't actual bad thanks to the iPad and iPods!
We are all ready for a week of family fun in South Padre Island!

Making drip castles is one of our favorite beach things!

Ella LOVES the beach!
She loves the water, the sand, making new friends and collecting seashells.

So grateful for this time away from the normal stresses of life.
This guy right here pushes through some major depression EVERYDAY!  He works so hard for our family and provides a great life for us.  I am grateful for that!  I hate the constant battle his depression seems to be for both of us.  I fervently pray we find some relief soon. A week on the beach will be refreshing for both of us!

Happy 4th of July

Fireworks were great!  Be played some basketball and tennis at the resort following the firework show over the bay.

The beach is different then what we are use to.  In California or Mexico there is nothing between you and the beach.  While here there is brush.  The boardwalk to get out was kind of pretty.  But I still prefer the ocean just steps from my door.
I love the 4th of July and am so grateful to get to spend it together as a family!

We have much to be grateful for!

Logan did a great job taking our family selfie!
I love my family and my freedom!  Very grateful to live in this wonderful country.  Thankful for the men and women who have and who continue to fight to protect our freedoms.

We Arrived!

We were all happy to arrive in South Padre Island!

At one point on the 15 hour drive, Ella did get a bottle full of Pepsi. Don't judge....

Logan's favorite thing to say has been "everything is bigger in Texas!"  He said I needed to take a picture of the hot dog he had for dinner because it was so big.

This island won't know what hit it!  And I am being brave.....I am not even going to look up if there is an urgent care on the island. Just going to pray we don't need to know!

Hope This Isn't a Sign!

As we set out on the 15 hour drive from Pima to South Padre Island, Texas we got only about 30 minutes into the trio when we discovered that while loading the Denali, Ella had been so helpful and loaded change into the car DVD player!
Grrrrr.....I wanted to leave a little two year old on the side of the road!

The kids did much better then we anticipated considering they couldn't watch movies. Once we got to San Antonio, which is 11 hours in to the drive Justin was able to tear apart the DVD player. We did split up the long drive into two days. We stayed the night in Ozona, Texas.

To our surprise after Justin got the change out the DVD player still worked. The kids were able to watch a couple of movies as we drove from San Antonio to South Padre Island. Sure hope this isn't a sign of how the rest of our vacation is going to go!!

Barely Get Into Texas and....

Out of nowhere Grant says...

"What the Hell?"
He is playing a game on the iPad and he says that.  He has never said that before.  We asked him several times "What did you just say?"
His reply every time was, "I said What the hell!"
We asked him if he knew that was a cuss word and he had no clue.  Seriously, only 5 miles into the state of Texas and my kid starts cussing.  It was hilarious!  We all laughed about it and hopefully Grant now knows we don't say that.  Hahaha!!!
