Aye the Treasure Hunt Begins..........

At the very end of the party we had a treasure hunt for the kids to find all the goodies to put in their treat bags. My mom sewed these cute little bags for all 20 kids..............she is amazing! Having a treasure hunt is always a big hit with kids! We did it in two groups because there were so many kids. Every little pirate was eager to see what treasures they would get.
Justin was a great sport and a wonderful Captain Hook!
WOW that's some pirate face Doyle!
At the end they found a treasure chest full of gold necklaces, gold coins and jewels. All the kids thought it was GREAT!
What a TREASURE! The memories are all the treasure I need!
Captain Logan feel asleep on the floor at 7:00 sharp. He was so tired from his fun "Yo Ho Party!" The next day he asked me, "Mom can we do my party over again!" I'll take that as a compliment from my 4 year old!
Sleeping with his eyes slit open.......................oh the life of a pirate!
Happy Birthday Logan!

Up, Up and Away Party

I copied my Wonderful cousin Alison and threw a Up, Up and Away Party the week the movie Up came out on DVD. Each of the kids got to pick on friend to invite.............Kiersten asked Maranda, Hunter asked Kendall, and Logan asked Brinner!
These two little boys are just hilarious! They truly have a great time playing together..............it's like they were friends in the preexistence! Hunter just loves Kendall even though Kendall is in the second grade. Hunter always enjoys playing with boys older than him and they don't seem to mind it! Kiersten and her good friend Maranda! They were so giggly this night, it was cute! We were going to have mini hamburgers with ketchUP, but I was tired and fed UP so Justin brought home pizza and we had 7-UP to drink!
7-UP for the UP Party
Cute little Kendall with pizza sauce lips!
Silly Logie
These two boys were hilarious. They kept laughing at each other. It was so funny it made me laugh. I love Brinner because he is just as rough and tough as Logan so no one gets mad.
These two really truly enjoy each others company! And Brinner kept burping which made me feel good as a mom because Logan burps all the time. I guess that's just what little 4 year old boys do!
Love Brinner's smile!
The kids did push UPs
Hunter showing his strength
Then they did sit UPs
And then they all played heads UP 7-UP! They thought all the activities were fun!
Logan and Brinner couldn't stop laughing long enough to really play the game but they had fun just the same!
After the activities we had push UP pops for dessert!
Silly 4 year old boys
Enjoying a little sugar
Nice tongue Maranda!
Then the kids got dressed UP in their p.j.'s before we started the movie UP. Maranda had to go home early, but Kiersten was a good sport and didn't mind.
Kendall and Hunter all cosy and comfy!
Logan and Brinner took over what I think is the best seats in the house! Thanks Al for the great idea, you're the best! Hope you don't mind us copying your fun idea. Wish you lived closer so we could have partied together! The kids all had so much fun I think we'll do a little movie party night again before Christmas if I can think of somethings clever and fun!

Growin' Up Too Fast

Mr. Grant is growin' up way too fast. He is two months old (tomorrow) and just the sweetest thing on earth! He is such a good baby and I wish I could just sit and hold him all day long. Mr. Grant is starting to smile when we talk to him. It just makes my day to see his adorable sweet smile! When I took Grant to the doctor for his check up at 6 weeks he was........ 10 lbs 9 oz and 21 inches long The kids adore him! Logan is so gentle with his "little friend, Brant"...............he just wants to touch him ALL THE TIME!!!

Grant's Biggest Challenge..........

(Logan insisted on taking a picture with his "Little Friend, Brant!")
I am pretty sure Grant's biggest challenge in life right now is surviving his loving, ever so helpful three year old brother, Logan! Up until last week Logan had done a great job of being gentle with Grant. Apparently that phase has past and Logan is now onto being a Holy Terror!!!
Monday Grant was asleep on the couch and the rest of the family was out in the backyard visiting with Uncle Dustin about our landscape. I saw Logan go inside the house, after about 10 minutes I realized Logan was still in the house......ALONE WITH GRANT! So I ran inside to find Logan holding Grant by the neck "walking" him back and forth across the couch. Needless to say everyone, including Logan, lived through that.
The very next day I ran some errands in town. I went into the dry cleaners to drop something off and when I come back out I find that Logan was "given Grant a drink of his coke." Yea he spilt his whole soda all over Grant. This time I think he really was trying to be helpful. Logan kept telling me, "Mommy Brant was crying so I share my soda with him!" Whenever we ask Logan about this incident he either completely denies it or he'll say, "Why I in big trouble?"
This was the same day Grant, who normally doesn't split up very much, puked all over me. And by all over I mean ALL OVER ME!!! I have had spit up on my shirt, pants and even in my hair but until this day I had never gotten spit up in my mouth. Yep, I has turned looking and talking to Grant and before I knew it he had spit up and it got in my mouth. Man alive that was a mother moment if there ever was one. I about tossed my own cookies, it grossed me out so bad. Oh the joys of motherhood!

Not a Good Night Time Mommy..........

So I have discovered that I am NOT a very good night time mommy! If my kids get up during the night I just send them straight back to their own beds. Even if they say their legs hurt, head hurts, they're scared, etc............I am not very compassionate in the middle of the night when I think there really isn't a good reason why they are awake. Now if they have the stomach flu or something it's a different story. I found out that last night my kids even know I am nicer when they say their stomachs hurt.
2:00 a.m. Hunter wakes me up and tells me he can't sleep. I tell him go lay on the couch and I lay back down. Hunter then tells me but Mom I feel like I am going to throw up. Which immediately gets my attention and I jump up out of bed and tell him to hurry to the bathroom. He goes to the bathroom and I tell him I will get him a bowl. I go to check on him in the bathroom and ask him if he threw up? He says no Mom my tummy doesn't even hurt but I knew you would get up if I said that! He did have a 102 fever and said his throat hurt, not his stomach. I of course had to make him a comfy place on the couch next to Kiersten who has strep throat. I decided to try to make it up to Hunter for being a bad night time mommy. I got him the cherry favored cough drops that I am pretty sure are just the same thing as a life savor but says cough drops. The kids love those kind and why wouldn't they. I also got him the little fever/cool strips that go on your forehead to help with his fever. I usually won't ever buy them............we just use wet wash clothes. Hunter was so excited about these cool strip and he kept his on until bed time. I guess I need to watch how I am acting closer because man my kids really pick up on everything!!!
Took Hunter to the Dr. today and he has strep as well. They are both so sick! I hope no one else gets it in our family, especially Grant!

Trick-or-Treat

We had a great time trick-or-treating! We went to the neighborhood Quail Ridge and WOW it was so busy. There were cars lined up outside the neighborhood. It was so fun to see all the different costumes! The kids were so happy to be getting candy! Lots of the houses were decorated up cute.
Nice looking group of Monkeys!
Now how cute are we?
Oh ringing the doorbell is so fun!
Monkey Kids! They got tired after about 4 streets which worked out nice because they each had plenty of candy by then anyways.
They were crashed out in no time. I love that Logan still has his sucker in his mouth!
One little monkey couldn't make it his bed!

This is my sister-in-laws sweet baby Jordon. He was born a couple of weeks after Grant. Congratulations to Amy and Dustin on the new addition! We had a fun photo shoot with him today.
