Water Park Fun

We had a great time at the Great Wolf Lodge. I just love my little family!

Lazy River............the kids favorite spot!

The kids loved the lazy river, although they weren't so lazy in it. Kiersten and Hunter pretty much did laps around it. It was great to know that they can swim, so I didn't worry about them lapping me.
It was a full time job to keep up with Logan. He has no fear of water! Most of the time I just let him swim ahead of me and I just made sure he didn't get ran over by a tube. He had so much fun and I felt like I got a workout! Me and my boys! This is when we first we trying to keep Hunter's cast dry..................what a joke! We should have listened to Hunter from the beginning.
Kiersten swimming around the lazy river. I kept trying to tell the kids that they were suppose to be LAZY in the lazy river, but I couldn't convince them of that.
Justin is a great dad! The kids adore him. The boys loved hanging on Justin's legs.
So much fun! You can just see from this picture how much fun the kids had in the lazy river.
Justin and Logan getting a little water. Logan loved going under the water falls and I think Justin did too. This waterpark really makes you feel like a kid again. It was the refreshing break that I needed. I enjoyed acting like a kid, with my kids! Good Times!
So cute Logan and his Daddy!
You can just see the fun in Logan's face!
Kiersten jumping in the water at the wave pool. The wave pool was another favorite spot for our kids.
Man he's a handsome guy and what a fun personality!
My four kids.................that's more true a statement then I would like it to be. They are cute kids though so that's good.
Sweet Kiersten playing by the baby part. Kiersten was so brave this year and went on every water slide she was tall enough to go on. She loved them! It was so fun to go on the big rides with her. I felt like such a kid getting on the tube to go down the toilet bowl ride. I think I had a smile from ear to ear because it felt so good to feel and act like a kid for a moment. There is just something about a water slide that puts you right back to childhood. I loved it!

Scoops Kids Spa.......................yes, you read that right!

Let's just say this is a "sweet" place! Made me wish I was 12 or younger.
Kiersten was in heaven. She got a pedicure and got to pick out the bath fizzies and foot lotion, they were all ice cream scented. It was so stinkin' cute. Her smile says everything! She was as excited as she looks and more!
Kiersten was a good big sister and let Hunter hang out with her during her pedicure. Hunter defiantly kept the women entertained. They gave Kiersten a bowl of gourmet gummy worms, they even had smiley faces on them. Kiersten was nice and kept a few for Hunter. Hunter was suppose to stay with Justin in the waterpark, but he just knew he was missing out on some fun so he came to watch.
They even started giving Hunter the royal treatment as well. He really had that girl wrapped around his finger. She let him smell everything and gave him more gummy worms. He has a way with women already......................boy are we in trouble!
Kiersten went for a pink and blue pattern. She loved the spa and even said she didn't want to get back in the water the next day because she didn't want her nail polish to come off. I reassured her if it did we could just repaint them. She agreed that it wouldn't be worth sitting outside the pool all day. Kiersten is all girly and I love it! She might be my only girl I am realizing and I just want to get her girly clothes, shoes, hair bows, all of it! Kiersten makes me smile all the time. She has such a sweet, caring, fun personality!

Bear Paw, Oh What a Treat!

This is the ice cream and goodies shop inside the resort. We had morning donuts and evening ice cream here. Don't worry I worked out several times, but I still should have worked out more:)
Cute kids Logie loves chocolate ice cream and it is fun to see how much he enjoys eating it/wearing it!
Ok so Ican't really claim to be an ice cream lover, like Justin. But that was until I met Birthday Cake ice cream...........................WOW..............glad I didn't know about this flavor any earlier or I would be 300 lbs, seriously. I only let myself have it on the days that I worked out, which was just enough motivation to workout on vacation. (Justin definately wouldn't like me at 300 lbs, more motivation to workout I guess)

Always An ADVENTURE with Hunter around.............

Not exactly the picture you want to be posting anytime let alone with the vacation pictures. But apparently Hunter wasn't having enough fun at the waterpark resort, so he decided a trip to the ER would add to the adventure. And that it did!
Poor little guy he fell as he was coming down the ladder from the top bunk in our room and broke both his radial and ulnar bones in his arm. There was some dorsal displacement but due to his age they said it didn't need to be set. Hunter was in a lot of pain and it just broke my heart to see him like that. The resort sent up a EMT and two Life Guards to take a look. The EMT guy looked Hunter over and basically said he didn't know if the arm was broke, but he didn't think so because he thought Hunter should be in more pain. I tried to tell them that when it comes to pain Hunter is one tough kid! Hunter was so strong while they were there but as soon as they left he asked if it was OK if he cried again. Once we were at the ER and we got his arm wrapped, Hunter started to feel some relief. He had a nice size bump on his head as well and a headache to go along with that. The Baylor Medical Center was great! Tough Guy...............the sling really helped out with the pain and it was fun to hear all the things Hunter called his sling. Wow that is one word that is hard for Hunter to get out...............he made me laugh so much trying to say "sling." I love Hunter's speech impediment although I do hope he grows out of it. After leaving the ER we had to go to a orthopedic surgons office to get a watercast put on so the remainder of our vacation wasn't ruined. Breaking your arm while staying at a waterpark resort and not getting a water cast put on would have been madness. And heaven knows we don't need anymore madness in our lives!!! This is the next day and several Motrin pills later...................Hunter is ready to hit the waterpark. He kept telling his dad that the bag on his arm made him look like a dork. He said he didn't think it would keep the water out and he was right it didn't. So after one trip in the lazy river we took it off and Hunter said, "Yes, now I don't look like a dork anymore!" I know why wrap it if it's a watercast? The Dr. said it's OK to get wet, but it would smell worse and could irritate his skin more. The Dr. also said to dry it with a hair dryer if we did get it wet, so we were trying to avoid all those things, but so much for that.
Hunter quickly learned (all on his own, I didn't tell him how to pose) how to pose for a photo with his cast. After he does his pose he'll alwasy ask me if it was a good one and if he can see it. If it's not quite right he'll even say lets take another one. Thats what happens when your mother is a photographer I guess.
The is where the accident occurred. Hunter isn't having much luck with ladders the past couple of months. On November 19th Hunter fell off the ladder in our castle fort and broke his left foot (I'll post more about that story later). Anyways, he had just gotten his foot cast off two days before Christmas, a Tuesday. He got his foot cast off a week early because we were going on this vacation to the waterpark and exactly one week later, a Tuesday, he breaks his right arm. Never a dull moment...................oh how I wish there were somedays!
One of the cool things that happened when we got back to the resort is that Hunter got free ice cream for the whole family for breaking his arm. He thought that was pretty cool, but he did say "he didn't think it was worth breaking a arm for!"

Our Cabin

This is just Hunter being Hunter, he thinks the peace sign is so cool. What a nut!
The kids had their own cabin inside of our room and they thought it was the coolest thing in the world. It was very cute and creative!
We stayed on the Piney Path floor. The trees that decorated the halls were great. I would love to make one in Hunter's bedroom.........it's on my to do list for 2009!

Our Christmas Vacation to the Great Wolf Lodge in Grapevine, Texas

This is the main lodge @ the Great Wolf Lodge in Grapevine, TX. This is such a fun place to vacation. It's a indoors waterpark resort and so much more................you see once I post all about it. You never have to leave the resort if you don't feel like it. There is so much to do here, our kids decided they wanted to live here and be home taught. Ha, Ha This is where they had bedtime stories every night at 8 o'clock. It was a kids paradise for sure! Our cute family infront of the main fireplace. I love it when people offer to take your picture so your whole family can be in the picture!
