Over The Top

I have no idea how I got kids that always have to do things over the top?!?
I also don't know why a teacher would give kids an assignment and tell them "if they do everything the teacher has described for an assignment, they will receive a C, so in order to receive anything higher than that the student needs to be creative."  Oh yeah and this isn't a art class, this is for social studies!

Hunter is always up from Mrs. Kempton's challenges.  The assignment was to redesign the flag adding 3-5 new stars.  There were some specific instructions like the 13 stripes could not be changed, the colors could not be changed, etc.  The assignment itself said to color it on a large paper.  Oh no, Hunter decides to get his A, he is going to sew his flag out of fabric.

Hunter cut out stars for days and then went to Grandma Boswell's house and she helped him sew it.  But he did a lot of the sewing himself.  Hunter was pretty excited to receive the highest score anymore has ever been given on this assignment.
Over the top really paid off!
