"I'm Sexy and I know it!"

Mr. Grant is my little alarm clock!  He wakes up between 6:00 and 6:30 every morning and comes and wakes me up.  I do have my alarm on my phone set for 6:15 but usually either Mr. Grant or Kiersten's music playing wakes me up first.

So this morning like clock work, 6:20 Mr. Grant runs in to our room and tells me, "Wake up mom!  I'm hungry!."
He is always hungry the minute he wakes up.

But this morning after telling me he was hungry he said,
"And mom, I sesy and I know it!
I sesy and I know it!"

It just cracked me up!  He is the youngest can you tell?
And yes Mr. Grant you are "sesy" in a 3 year old kind of way!
Thanks for making me laugh!

How does my 3 year old know just what to say?

Mr. Grant had played with his wooden train set in the family room today.  As evening approached I asked him to put it back in the basket it goes in.  No he didn't just do it, he's three.  But he would go pick up about 5 pieces and put them in the basket.  Then he was distracted and moved on.  He was so funny he kept giving me little Toy Story stickers because he was doing good picking up the trains.....go figure!  I think he just thought he'd get out of picking them up if he did.

Cute idea Mr. Grant but I would tell him again to go pick up the rest of the train set.  Again 5 pieces later he was giving me a sticker.  This continued for awhile.....I think I had like 7 stickers on my shirt before he almost had every piece put away.

There were just a handful of cars left to pick up, scattered on the family room floor.  I told Mr. Grant to hurry and pick them up so we could start a movie.  I walked on in to the kids bedroom side of the house to put up some shoes.

Mr. Grant came and found me and said,

"Mommy, I not be rood, but I lost all my en-e-gy.
I can't pick up any more toys!"

(Mr. Grant and Logan- November 2012- Grammy Boswell's)

And that is how my 3 year old got out of picking up the last 5 cars.   Hey if you can come with an excuse that good and fast when you're just 3, I think you deserve to get out of something!

Bowling Fun

We got some money from Grammy and Grampy Cluff for Christmas to spend doing something fun as a family.  We spent it several different ways....one being a night of bowling with friends!

Hunter and Rayden Ramsey

Logan and Ryker
Ryker is pretty much my forth son.  He calls me, "Second Mom."

Kiersten and Maranda

Ryker was so nice and bought Grant his own candy bar.

Justin and I decided not to bowl just take turns helping Grant bowl.
Helping a three year old bowl was enough fun for me.....ha, ha!

What a crew we had!
It was a ton of fun even though we didn't get a lane with bumpers.
Thanks Grammy and Grampy for the good time!

I love this guy!
So glad we got to spend time with him over Christmas break!

Scared Me to Death

It was Christmas break still and we were enjoying a few warm days.  What accompanies warm days at our house is riding quads and dirt bikes.  All the kids had been out riding all day.  Justin was actually off..........busy working on his stereo system in the basement.  I just have to say our basement is going to ROCK...literally!

Okay on with my story, I noticed I hadn't seen Mr. Grant in awhile so I started to ask all the kids if they had.  Everyone said, "No."
I stayed calm.  I looked through the house calling his name....found nothing!
We checked all the neighbors, even though it's not like him to wander to their houses without asking first.  No one had seen him.  I start to get a little anxious.  I start to think maybe he thought he could walk to the pond like the older boys had done earlier in the day.  Again not like him, but I didn't know where else to check. Kiersten and I drove around the pond but didn't see him.
I went home and asked Justin what else I should do.  By this time it had been about 45 minutes since anyone had seen him.

Just when I am starting to really get worried I glance in my bedroom (which I had already walked through several times looking for him) and I realize..... that helmet on my laundry piled couch is indeed MR. GRANT!  I wish I would have taken a picture of the whole couch so you could have seen how he blended in with all the clothes.  Boy was I relieved and dumbfounded that I didn't notice that was him earlier.  I didn't know he still had his helmet on.  Nor would I have thought he would have crawled right up on the couch and fell asleep without asking me to take it off.

Guess all that riding wears a kid out!

So we ended up getting a good laugh out of this in the end.  And most likely several grey hairs!!

25.  Learn of Jesus and pick a "gift for Jesus" to work on through out the coming year.

The kids never get tired of decorating gingerbread houses.

Kiersten looks pretty darn happy doesn't she!

Kiersten's masterpiece!

I love seeing the kids get creative!

Great job Hunter!  He really went all out with candy!

I think Logan ate every other piece of candy he picked up.  It was cute I would keep catching him with a mouth full of sweets!

Grant really got into decorating his house this year....well at least the yard!

Grant's and Logan's

Hunter's

This is our Jerusalem Dinner setting

We have done this tradition for the past several years and it is one of our favorite ways to remember the reason we celebrate Christmas.
Justin and I dress as Joseph and Mary.....

The kids have costumes to dress as the three wise men.  Because our dinner involves candle light and wine glasses we've had Grant go to the neighbors while we have it.  Next year he'll be old enough to join us!
The kids go through out the house with flashlight looking for a glow in the dark star signifying for them the place the Savior has been born.
Once the kids find us we enjoy dinner of meats, cheeses, flat breads, hummus, olives, nuts and grape juice.  Then Justin (Joseph) reads from the scriptures and we discuss the events around Christ's birth.  My kids absolutely love doing this and it really sets a great atmosphere for our Christmas season.

Justin was working late so I took the kids around to friends houses to carol with their violins.
One of our favorite places to go is Sandra Smith's house.
We love seeing her Christmas tree COVERED in all those balls!

It is quite the sight!

The kids love looking at all the different glass balls she has covering her tree.

Instead of making staff cookies we decided to let the kids make these beaded staff ornaments.

Hunter even made extra for his Grammies!

Logan made his nice and colorful!
Then the kids got to put them on their Christmas trees in their rooms.

Peppp came back after missing for a night.
The kids were very sad to not be able to find Peppp anywhere.

The next day when Peppp returned he had this note.
The kids are working harder to be good now!

These are the snow globe gifts I made for all the kids teachers, complete with a Walmart gift card and everything!  I think they turned out great!

Justin made up this jingle to go along with my teacher gifts.
Thanks Jingling Justin!!!

Our hearts are full this Christmas season!
We have so much to be grateful for!

The TRUE meaning of Christmas

Every year for Christmas we do a secret service for our Doyle's sock.  In honor of Justin's brother who committed suicide when he was only 16 years old.  It will be 15 years this May since he left this earth.  Some years we do something during the year or through out the year and some times we do it close to Christmas.

This year Hunter was very determined to do something himself for Doyle's sock even though Justin and I had already done something.

Hunter came up with the idea to play his violin outside of Walmart to earn money to buy gifts for a family in need.  He talked Kiersten into playing with him.  They practiced Christmas songs for weeks.
Then on Christmas Eve day I took them down to Walmart to play.  We had been so busy this month that it was the only day we could do this.  I wasn't sure how things would go since it was Christmas Eve....

The out pour to love and support from friends and strangers was amazing!  The kids only played for an hour at Walmart and they ended up making $340!!!!  Non of us could believe it!!  People were great.....they commended the kids for what they were doing and told them what great kids they were.

Justin had told the kids that he would double what ever they made while playing at Walmart.  He of course about died when I counted the money!  But he is a man of his word so the kids ended up having $680 to spend.

All the great comments and seeing my kids being so brave like this brought tears of joy to my eyes!  This is what Christmas is all about and I have never been prouder of my kids!
Great day as a parent!

Aunt Susan was working that day so she said if the kids came and played for her patients at the Dialysis Center, she would donate to the cause.  The kids were more then happy to do that.  Even one of her co-workers donated as well.
Kiersten said that playing for Aunt Susan's patients was her favorite part......just might need to make that a new tradition!

The whole family had a great time buying gifts for a sweet single mom with two boys.  They kids were able to buy some really nice gifts for every one as well as give the mom $300 cash.

We spent the rest of our day buying gifts, wrapping and secretly delivering the gifts.  Then going around and looking at Christmas lights.  It really made my kids focus on giving, instead of what they wanted for Christmas.  It was a beautiful day!

Thanks Hunter for such a great idea!  They are already talking about what they plan to do different next year!  This just made my Christmas complete!

Look Who Came....

Oh My Goodness......look what our Elf Peppp took a picture of with my camera that I had sitting out on the counter.
Yep, he captured a picture of the real Santa IN OUR HOUSE Christmas morning!!!!

What a fun surprise to have captured on film!
Our kids got up at 3:00 A.M.........yes you read that right 3:00 A.M.
We figured what the heck they were all too excited to send back to bed so our Christmas fun began at 3:00!  Okay so I might be like a little kid on Christmas morning myself so why not start the fun!

Grant was of course thrilled with the candy in his stocking.

Hunter loved his purple case for the Playstation Vita he already had.

Kiersten could not believe we got her a PHONE!!!!

Hunter loved his Electric violin we got him!

Grant was excited about the train table.

Logan's
To Use:  Green Machine scooter
To Amuse:  Xbox
To Cherish:  Electric Drum Set

We gave Hunter my iPhone 4 to use as an iPod.  We even had it covered in purple ghost armor!
He was in heaven!

Of course purple earphones to go with his "new" iPod was a hit!

Hunter's
To Use: iPod
To Amuse: Xbox
To Cherish: electric violin

Logan wanted a drum set and we are just crazy enough to get him one.  Of course we did think it through and got him and ELECTRIC DRUM SET which has a volume control!

Grant could not have been happier then he was with his new Lightning McQueen bike.

Kiersten loved her little sit down scooter.  She had seen it in the mall and even tried it out in the store.  So it was at the top of her Christmas list.

Logan and Hunter got an Xbox with a couple of games.

The boys all chipped in and bought Kiersten some jewelry with their own money.
What great brothers!

Kiersten's
To Use:  Cell Phone
To Amuse:  Sit on Scooter
To Cherish:

This picture right here is proof that I am NOT SANTA!!
All the kids with the exception of Grant got FURBY'S!!!!

We aren't sure how Santa was able to be so quiet and get this air hockey table into the playroom which is right by all the kids rooms but he did.  The kids are ready to have friends over to play some games!

The drums were a HUGE hit with actually everybody!
I even enjoyed pounding on them!

Logan has quite the rhythm!  And boy were we glad we invested a little more money into them and got an electric set........the volume control is great!  The kids can even plug their iPods into the drums and drum along to their favorite music!

Grant's
To Use: Bike
To Amuse: Wooden Train Set & Table
To Cherish: TRIP to Disneyland with just MOM

Okay so Grant's to cherish gift was really a gift for me as well.  Ever since summer time when I took all the other kids to Disneyland when Kiersten danced there, Grant has asked when he was going to Disneyland.  So he got a Mickey Mouse shirt and a note saying he was going to get to FLY to Disneyland!  It will be his first time on a plane and he was thrilled about that.  We scheduled our Disneyland trip in February!

Grammy Boswell made it an extra special Christmas for Kiersten by making her an owl blanket.  It is cool cute!  All hand stitched with LOVE!

Grant was thrilled with the RC truck Grampy Boswell picked out for him!

Logan got a RC spider and I think Grampy was more excited about this one then anybody.  Sadly the spider did not end up working well to climb the wall.

Hunter loved that his got a RC monster truck!  We were so glad Grammy and Grampy Boswell came down to see our Christmas surprises.  For some reason Grammy and Grampy Cluff didn't come out.

Kiersten bought the boys this huge ball that you could climb in and roll around the yard.

Needless to say this ball was a HUGE hit with everyone!  Even the neighbor kids!

The kids crashed out in our bed early.....guess 3:00 a.m. caught up with them!
It was a wonderful Christmas day!
We are so grateful for the real reason we celebrate this season, our Savior Jesus Christ.
