So the morning we are suppose to leave to go camping up in the White Mountains we discovered this..........YIKES! There was a huge storm the night before we were planning to leave......it was crazy! We found out the next morning that our roof has been leaking probably since the house was built.....well if the storms were large enough the rain would get in. We had planned to leave at 8:00 a.m. as things had been packed in the toy hauler the night before. But obviously we had to take care of our leaking roof. The builders did come right away to assess the damage..........both Justin's got up in the attic to see what we were dealing with. It was obvious that the flashing on the roof had been placed exactly opposite of how it is suppose to be. The builder quickly knew it was his error and got his crew over to fix the roof. The kids and I would be gone for 9 days, Justin would be home on Monday. The promise was that everything would be patched, painted and looking new when I returned.............ya right!
We didn't leave until 5:00 p.m. but were glad we were there when it happened. Now we are off to "relax" in the cool country!

t least you found out the damage on your roof before you left for vacation. You wouldn't want to come home and find out that a good chunk of your ceiling had already rotted because of the leak, or a decent area on your walls had been damaged by water creeping in. It's always best to have these things addressed immediately, as the roof is one of the most important structures in the house. A roof needs to have every part of it in proper condition, so it can give adequate protection for the house from outside elements.
