Ice Cream and Boat Race

On my run this morning I saw a sign for "The Great Greer Boat Race" that is tomorrow.  After lunch we decided to go into town to inquire about that boat race.

Of course when we saw this cute ice cream shop we just had to stop. 92 Bean has a cute little train that the kids can play on and everything. It's super cute....wish I had taken a picture of it.

Ella was thrilled to get her very own first ice cream cone. What's great about the cooler weather is that Ella can actually eat it before it's a dripping mess!! Plus having her wear a wind breaker jacket makes for easy clean up as well. Ella was sure excited about this ice cream cone and that she could walk up the little hill to the train all by herself. Man she's getting big too fast!

Everyone enjoyed an ice cream and then of course we needed a hot chocolate to warm us back up.....thanks Hunter for that great idea.

We are loving all the gorgeous wild flowers up here. Simply beautiful!

After we found out that the boat race just involves buying premade boats the kids decided they wanted to have a boat race of their own. Logan didn't want to do it, he was having too much fun fishing. So Mona, Kiersten and Hunter spend some time getting creative and making boats. Then we rode up town where the river is more open so that they could race them. Hunter's boat won by a landslide!  They had a fun time!
