Scuba Diving

Justin and I haven't been on a trip where we could scuba dive in quite awhile.  We were super stoked, and I was a little anxious about going.
But mostly stoked!

We decided to scuba dive in St. Croix.  It was great to get a chance to get back out in the ocean.  Oh how I love the freedom and escape it is to spend some time under the water!  It only took a minute of having all the gear on and then my nerves were calmed.  The first dive we went on we went down 100 feet!  It was surprising to me that when I read my gauge we were already at 100 feet.  Sure didn't seem like it.

We hovered and explored at the 80 foot level for a lot of the dive.  Justin and I both didn't feel like the vegetation or fish were very impressive.  Always great to be under the water but wish there were more fish.  Justin still thinks Hawaii is the best diving we've ever done.  Not that we've been diving in tons of locations or anything.
The second dive we went on we saw several lion fish.  Our dive master told us that the lion fish are eating all the other fish.  So when we are diving if he sees a lion fish he always kills it with a spear gun.  Richard, Stacie, Justin and myself were all about 5-10 feet away from our guide when he motions to us that is going to kill this huge lion fish.  He kills it and within a minute a 4 foot shark starts swimming around us.  Our guide motions for us to get back a little bit and to stay out of the way.  We watch as the shark circles around and then goes in and eats the lion fish!  It was CRAZY!!!

Justin and I have seen sharks before while diving but never seen one go and eat something like that.

So grateful to have the chance to take this trip!

Richard and Stacie are too much fun!  I love them so much!  It was wonderful to get to spend the week vacationing with them!  They both bring out the best in Justin and myself!
We have to plan more scuba diving trips now that these two are certified!
