Basketball Season is Upon Us

This year it seems as though EVERYONE on the team grew...

With the EXCEPTION of Hunter!
It's funny but sad at the same time.
Last year he had at least one of his teammates close to his height.  This year not so much!

We can already tell that Hunter is going to get even less playing time this year.  Not going to lie, it's not easy for Hunter.  But on the flip side, he is learning a great deal more than just how to play basketball by being on this team.  He is really having to develop his character and learn to have a good attitude in spite of unfairness.
I think its good for him and will really benefit him in the long run.

I will say Hunter's class is the BEST!!!
They really support each other.  They made shirts and everything!! These girls came to the boys tournament that took up all Saturday morning.

That is pretty AWESOME in my book!!!
Love my #3!
I have to be proud of Hunter.  I don't think there are very many 13 year old boys that would keep getting up at 4:30 in the morning for basketball practice when they don't get to play.
He knows its just because of his height that he doesn't get much playing time.  It's frustrating in one sense because there is nothing in his power to change that.  But at the same time, we are trying to remind him that he just needs to keep at it if he likes the sport because he will eventually get a growth spurt.  He might always be the short one but he won't be this short forever.
It is fun to watch these boys play.  A few of them are seriously really good ballers!
