One of the new traditions we tried this year was celebrating Joseph Smith's, the prophet, birthday on December 23rd.
We told the kids they would get to open their presents from Grammie and Grampie Boswell.
They liked this new tradition already!
Logan's gift was little but I brought a HUGE smile! In the box was actually just a note from Grampie saying he left Logan's real present in the toy hauler.
Kiersten was excited to see what these gifts might be?
Hunter was by far THE MOST EXCITED one! He just knew this was a gun..........we kept telling him not to be disappointed when he opened it!
Mr. Grant really didn't know what all the fuss was about!
Can you believe it............my parents got Hunter his first gun.
Now this just shows how much my dad LOVES Christmas...........he is worse then any kid!
Look at Hunter's face............I think he went into some type of shock!
It is the blue bike he asked Santa for but Grammie and Grampie got it for him. When you are 5 and your dad runs over your bike (which was completely out of the way of his dads truck I might add) a couple of weeks before Christmas......
Your chances for getting a new bike go WAY up!
Mr. Grant loved his remote control car.
He's beginning to see what all the fuss is about!
To celebrate Joseph Smith's birthday we sang Happy Birthday...........each kid got to blow out a candle and we had cake.
We also talked about his life and the important role Joseph Smith played in restoring the gospel of Jesus Christ to the earth and helping bring forth the Book of Mormon, another testament of Jesus Christ which is to be used along with the Bible in helping us and guiding us back to our Father in Heaven.
Grampie "helped" Mr. Grant eat his cake!
Kiersten was so happy to get a new American Girl doll that has a perm like she does. The other American Girl doll is one she got three years ago for Christmas.
This is her new one...........Grammie Boswell wanted Kiersten to have a doll with curly hair.
Grampie showing Hunter all about his gun.......a 22 Scout!
Hunter was so excited to go ALL BY HIMSELF with Grampie..........when they were done at the rifle range they stopped by Justin's office to show him what a good aim Hunter is.
Kiersten got out all her American Girl dolls and made them beds. She laid them each out an outfit for the next day.
It was fun to spread out opening gifts...........I think we'll do this one again next year as well. The kids just loved their gifts............I think we could have taken all the other gifts back and the kids would have still been happy.
